Students are expected to arrive to class on time. In most cases, certification classes starts 15 minutes after scheduled time to allow for traffic. Please arrive on time scheduled for workshops, as they are shorter with limited time.

Program Process

IMA is under a point system. Most of the accumulated points are acquired for attendance. Students that do not attend regularly will have a low attendance score. The minimum score to receive your certificate is 70 Points. Other points are given for coming prepared, completing homework assignments, a test, and final look application. The test accounts for the smallest amount of points, whereas the attendance and homework account for the majority.

If you attend class regularly and do homework assignments, low test performance will not prevent you from completing our program.  Attendance is the most important aspect of completing the IMA program.

Exceptions: Some Medical Conditions are excusable on a case-by-case basis. If you have a known medical condition that may interfere with your class attendance, You MUST inform your instructor of this during the 1st week of class, or provide adequate medical documentation after class is missed due to the medical condition. Arrangements will be made for you, depending on how much class is missed. Student will not have points deducted for missed days caused by the condition. It is not guaranteed that every condition will qualify for the medical exception.

*Please note that weekend classes cannot be made up if missed.

What should I know about careers Makeup Artistry?

Becoming a makeup artist is a lot like owning your own busines. It can be very rewarding for individuals that put forth the effort to meeting their own goals. Makeup Artistry is a very broad career. Artists can choose positions in retail, bridal & events, tv & film and theatre to name a few.

IMA hopes to be the first stepping stone for prospective artists to gain knowledge about the ins and outs of the field.
