What is the attendance policy?

Attendance and Absence policy

Students are expected to attend class on days that are scheduled. If it is necessary to be absent, please let your instructor know ahead of time, if possible. In most cases, missing 1 class during the duration of a certification course does not hinder learning the material. Classes build from the previous lesson, so students are usually able to catch up. There may also be an option to schedule a 1-on-1 with an instructor for the missed material if the student feels it is necessary. 1-on-1 class availability is not guaranteed and carries a fee.

Students are expected to arrive to class on time. In most cases, certification classes starts 15 minutes after scheduled time to allow for traffic. Please arrive on time scheduled for workshops, as they are shorter with limited time.

Attendance is the most important aspect of completing the IMA program.

Exceptions: Some Medical Conditions are excusable on a case-by-case basis. If you have a known medical condition that may interfere with your class attendance, You MUST inform your instructor of this during the 1st week of class or provide adequate medical documentation after class is missed due to the medical condition. Arrangements will be made for you, depending on how much class is missed. Student will not have points deducted for missed days caused by the condition. It is not guaranteed that every condition will qualify for the medical exception.  IMA Students are expected to attend a minimum of 75% of the classes in order to graduate.

*Please note that weekend classes cannot be made up if missed.

What will I need to bring to class?

Everyone that participates in IMA classes is required to have a makeup kit. Students have the choice of selecting their own kit or ordering the one offered on the IMA website. Nothing else is required to attend class.
