What to Bring
Participants may bring their own makeup kit and tools, or purchase the IMA Deluxe Kit for the intensive.
Your kit should include the essentials needed for complexion, eyes, lips, and basic application.

Since 2009, Industry Makeup Academy has helped more than 2,000 people deepen their understanding of makeup, artistry, and the beauty industry.
Today, IMA is evolving into a destination for immersive beauty education, hands-on experiences, and meaningful connections between artists, beauty lovers, and the brands shaping the industry.
Meet Your Instructors
Ebony Miller
Ebony is the Founder and Executive Director of Industry Makeup Academy and a beauty educator with more than 20 years of industry experience. Her background spans makeup artistry, education, bridal, television and film, brand events, and beauty industry marketing. She is known for helping people understand the theory and decision-making behind makeup, not just the steps.
Renelyn Thomas
Ren is the Director Of Education and Partner with experience in makeup artistry, airbrush application, beauty content, and brand partnerships. Her background as a beauty creator gives her a strong understanding of products, trends, visual presentation, and how beauty connects with modern audiences.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need makeup experience?
No. The Deep Dive Makeup Intensive is designed for different experience levels, from makeup enthusiasts to self-taught and working artists who want to strengthen their understanding of makeup theory and application.
Will I work on myself or a model?
Participants will practice techniques through a combination of guided exercises and hands-on application. Specific model requirements and the schedule for each day will be included in the preparation email.
What should I bring?
You may bring your own makeup kit and tools or purchase the IMA Deluxe Kit. A complete checklist of required products, tools, and supplies will be sent before the intensive.

When will I receive my Makeup Kit?
We will deliver your kit to you on the 1st day in-studio.
Can I use my own makeup kit?
Yes. You may bring your own kit, but products must be new or gently used, clean, sanitary, and suitable for professional-style hands-on practice. Your kit must also include the items listed on the preparation checklist.
Is there a dress code?
No. But we ask that you wear all black the last day for class photo.
