Technique is essential, but it’s only one part of building a makeup career. Most artists have plenty of the first and almost none of the second.
We start by looking at where you actually are:
Your technique, Your process, what’s working and what isn’t. Then we figure out what you want to build, whether that’s a new specialty or a pivot.
From there: two weeks of hands-on, in-person training, followed by 45 days of continued development, with milestones built around your specific stage. We stay involved the whole way through.
Understanding Artist Development
SELECTIVE + SMALL GROUP
A curated experience for trained and working artists ready for their next stage. Space is intentionally limited so participation stays personal. Past experiences have included local partnerships with NARS, Sephora and other major brands.
HANDS-ON DEVELOPMENT + IMMERSION
Two weeks of in-person, hands-on training, starting with a technical assessment and critique of your technique and process, then moving into advanced skill-building. From there, portfolio shoot days and an immersion visit into the industry itself.
45 DAYS OF CONTINUED DEVELOPMENT
The in-person experience is only the beginning. Continue with weekly 1:1 development and milestones built around your specific stage, plus a weekly one-hour zoom session with guest experts, speakers, and industry professionals.
What Immersion Days Have Looked Like:
Industry Makeup Academy has developed relationships with brands locally to bring behind-the-scenes access directly from their artists.
Sephora has hosted us for hiring events connecting artists directly with store teams, and opened their doors early for a private shopping and education event, where our instructors taught kit building and trend Q&A with the full store at our disposal before artists shopped the floor privately.
At NARS, artists got hands-on training most working artists never get access to on their own. These relationships also open doors to brands and connections that don’t end when the event does.
